Once upon a time in the heart of the South, a passionate young boy named Edward Paul King Jr. was washing dishes in his dad’s restaurant, standing on Coca Cola crates so he could reach the sink. Ed was about six or seven years old when he was finally old enough to help in the family business. He has been working in restaurants ever since. His sister was basically born at their family restaurant, and the family literally lived at the restaurant. Ed’s father, Edward P. King Sr, served in both Korea and WWII and was a mess cook who had quite a following in the Army. Good food being served even in the Army -- a testament to a great chef!

Young Ed Jr. took to the calling of being a restauranteur like a duck to water, running the restaurant so well that his dad was able to open a second location. Ultimately Ed opened his own restaurant, Ed’s Family Restaurant on Depot St, in Angier North Carolina, serving BBQ chicken with a sauce that he tirelessly tweaked and perfected over his fifty years in the restaurant business.

When people began asking for a to-go portion of his sauce and the crowds began to overflow on BBQ Chicken Tuesdays, Ed finally saw that his sauce, made with patience, love and a family heritage, was something special. Everybody wanted some. At long last, it is now available for you to purchase.
